Alois Lageder is a leading biodynamic producer Per mezzo di Italy who has for many years experimented with viticulture Per juxtaposition to climate change. Beginning with the 2018 vintage, the winery engaged Durante longer skin contact during the vinification of this wine because it had proven to slightly lower the alcohol levels.

The wine produced from Schiava is mostly red, though some dark colored rosé wines are also made. Carefully looked after Schiava will yield a delicate wine with seductive aromas of red berries, cotton candy, roses, dry blossom and almonds. By means of its fine acid-fruit balance the Schiava manages to be surprisingly complex and profound.

fell Con love with the reds made from the schiava grape when I was Con northeastern Italy’s gorgeous elevato Adige region last year. It was the perfect red to imbibe after a day spent hiking Durante the stunning Dolomite Mountains. So fresh and bright, with gushes of cranberry, cherry, spice, and minerals.

Schiava is kind of like breathing Con a bouquet of roses while getting a massage from Strawberry Shortcake. Shockingly, this wine hasn’t been on the radar for years because it’s so feminine, elegant, and light.

Schiava is a light-bodied red wine (like Pinot Noir) with aromas of cotton candy, strawberry, bubblegum, and lemonhead candy. The wine is delicate and light Per color. On the palate, the flavors are quite subtle and producers in Alto Adige will often make a dry style as to not overwhelm the palate with sweetness, which is already provided by the aromas.
